The Ames Youth Air Rifle program is an American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Program provided via a partnership between Ames American Legion Post 37 and the Ames Izaak Walton League.  The program teaches youth rifle safety, procedure, and marksmanship and lets children participate in an Olympic skill sport using a .177 cal air rifle while fostering healthy competition.  All interested youth under 18 years old (or high school seniors no older than 20) are welcome, regardless of gender or physical ability.  Contact coaches Cort Pahl or Randy Lien for details, or visit during scheduled practices to learn more about the program.
