The NRA “Refuse to Be a Victim” Program is a non-firearm seminar that teaches participants personal safety techniques to prevent them from becoming victims of crimes. Topics include the following:
- The mindset of criminals and how you can mentally prepare yourself to deal with them
- Home safety (including choosing locks, dealing with strangers at the door, and setting up a “safe room”)
- Safety in public places
- Staying safe while traveling
- Automobile security (including how to avoid carjacking and vehicle theft, and dealing with road rage)
- Technological security (including how to avoid scams and identity theft, and staying safe online)
- Information on different types of self-defense training and personal protection devices and how to select quality training
This is a great course for concealed carry permit holders and anyone interested in increasing their personal safety.
Cost is $35. All materials are included, and participants will receive a certificate of completion and student handbook. The course will run from 1-5 pm.
