Conservation

We are an active part of our community hosting several outdoor events, offering clinics and educational opportunities regarding conservation, facilitating Hunters Education & Bow Hunter Education Classes, and also providing local sponsorship of and meeting facilities to local Boy Scout Troop 230.

The local chapter takes part in conservation projects originating at the local, state and national levels, including attempts to secure sound legislation in conservation matters.  The Ames Ikes also work at the local level with the local governments and organizations to make sure the local conservation issues are addressed.  We have been well represented in the state and national groups as Officers and Directors.

The Izaak Walton League represents everything in conservation which provides aid and support for the protection and restoration of America's soil, air, woods, water and wildlife.  The Ikes are among the oldest of the conservation organizations.  We encourage YOU to join us in these efforts.

The Izaak Walton League of America is one of the nation's oldest and most respected conservation organizations. With a powerful grassroots network of more than 330 local chapters nationwide, the League is dedicated to common-sense solutions to protecting our country's natural heritage and improving outdoor recreation opportunities for all Americans. We invite you to learn about our work, which began in 1922, and join us in supporting important conservation initiatives in your community.
