There is something for everyone at the Ames Izaak Walton League.  This website will give you an overview of what the Ames Ikes are all about.  We encourage you to bookmark this site and check back often to see what events are taking place.  We hope your family and friends will enjoy the variety of activities that the Ikes have to offer, just as you enjoy these activities.

We are an active part of our community hosting several outdoor events, offering clinics and educational opportunities regarding conservation, facilitating Hunters Education & Bow Hunter Education Classes, and also providing local sponsorship of and meeting facilities to local Boy Scout Troop 230.  You may also have heard of the Iowa Games...that's right we facilitate several events here at our Ames Ikes Chapter.

The local chapter takes part in conservation projects originating at the local, state and national levels, including attempts to secure sound legislation in conservation matters.  The Ames Ikes also work at the local level with the local governments and organizations to make sure the local conservation issues are addressed.  We have been well represented in the state and national groups as Officers and Directors.

The Izaak Walton League represents everything in conservation which provides aid and support for the protection and restoration of America's soil, air, woods, water and wildlife.  The Ikes are among the oldest of the conservation organizations.  We encourage YOU to join us in these efforts.
